How To Empty The Trash On Android Phone

In this post, we will cover how to empty trash for files by Google and Google Photos, which are two of the popular gallery and file manager apps on Android phones.

Make sure you are okay with permanently loosing all the files in your trash. You can't recover them once they are gone!

How To Empty The Trash In Files By Google



First launch Files by Google app on your phone. When the app launches, in the top-left-corner, tap the  three horizontal lines (hamburger menu).

In the menu, select trash. In the trash section or page, select all your deleted files by choosing all items. Then, at the bottom, tap delete. In the prompt that appears, choose delete. 

Files by Google will permanently delete your trashed files for good, and you are done.

Empty Trash In Google Photos



Google Photos is the home for all your photos and videos, automatically organized and easy to share. 

To clear your deleted photos and videos in Google Photos, first launch the app on your android device. In photos button bar, tap Library.

On the Library screen at the top, tap Trash. On the trash page, in the top-right-corner, tap the three dots. From the three dots menu, select Empty trash. 

In the prompt, choose Allow to confirm your choice.
